WHAT IS MY SKIN BUDDy?
My Skin Buddy is a light therapy and ultrasonic device that uses four proven technologies and six settings to:

HOW DOES MY SKIN BUDDY WORK?
Using a variety of light therapies, ion care, and ultrasonic technologies, here’s a breakdown of the most beneficial ways My Skin Buddy works:
The LED Light therapy red light setting promotes collagen renewal and tissue regeneration. The thermal heat caused by this red light has been shown to improve blood circulation, tighten the skin and reduce pore size.
The blue light setting has an anti-bacterial effect on the skin and has been proven to help clear acne.
The green light setting quiets down inflammation, which helps to reduce redness (rosacea) and improves hyperpigmentation.
The Ion Care setting is an electrical current that safely passes through the skin to facilitate greater penetration of vitamins, using negatively charged ions, and can also be used in reverse to deeply cleanse and exfoliate the skin using positively charged ions. I like to use this cleansing mode once weekly as a deeper cleanse and detoxification for my skin.
The Ultrasonic technology setting stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. The Ultrasonic waves open minute pathways in the skin allowing for deeper product penetration.
All six settings on My Skin Buddy offer the Ultrasonic technology.
WHY DO I RECOMMEND MY SKIN BUDDY?
As a start, light therapy has been used in dermatology for a variety of skin disorders since the 1980s and has been used in our industry for its anti-aging benefits since 2001.
Beyond its health benefits, it’s also easy to use. Usually I’m not a huge fan of home use tools because it can be hard to follow their directions, but My Skin Buddy design makes it easy for people to use correctly.
For example, it has an automatic timer set at 5 minutes so you don’t have to worry about setting a timer or the correct settings. It’s also easy to travel with and uses a universal USB charger.
Lastly, My Skin Buddy enhances the effectiveness of your home care products due to its ability to help with product penetration.
Overall this is a great at home tool to use between your professional facials and also to use when giving yourself an at home treatment.
HOW TO USE MY SKIN BUDDY?
It’s ideal to use My Skin Buddy at least 3 times per week to maintain your skin’s overall health while gaining some of the anti-aging benefits. The best part? It only takes 5-10 minutes!
My favorite setting is #5, the multi-symptom mode with product penetration. To optimize the benefits it’s ideal to use Serums (i.e Anti-Aging CE serum with ferulic acid or Wrinkle Reducing Serum). For dryer skin, use moisturizers that offer peptides, ceramides and anti-oxidants such as the Restorative Crème.
WHO SHOULD NOT USE MY SKIN BUDDY?
While this tool is a great addition to an at home skin care routine, there are some people who should not use it. If any of the below apply to you, this tool is not for you, but I’d be happy to help you choose what products and tools are suitable for you if you fall into one or more of these categories.
My Skin Buddy should not be used by any person with:
Broken skin
Extreme sunburn
Pathological skin conditions
Heart beat regulating medication/heart complaints
Metal plates and pins
Pacemakers or other battery operated and electrical implants
Weak psycho-physical condition
Neurological disorders including epilepsy and multiple sclerosis
Skin conditions in an active state accompanied by inflammation, weeping or soreness
Or any person who is:
Pregnant or nursing
Under 12 years of age
My Skin Buddy should not be used by children between 12 and 17 years old without parental supervision.
BONUS: YOUR HOME FACIAL WITH MY SKIN BUDDY
When you aren’t able to get in to see your favorite esthetician, you can do an at home facial with My Skin Buddy.

Once you are clear on what facial products work best for you, try these steps at home:
Use setting #1 for deep cleansing and exfoliation combined with a facial cleanser. Gently massage in circular motions for 3-5 minutes and thoroughly rinse off your facial cleanser.
Clean your My Skin Buddy by wiping with alcohol wipes.
Apply your serum and hydrating mask and go to setting #6, the product infusion setting with no light.
Gently massage skin for 2-3 minutes until product has been absorbed by the skin.
Allow the mask to remain on skin according to the directions and wipe off your My Skin Buddy with alcohol wipes.
This facial may be done once weekly.
